Pastor Onyechi Anumba has said that late Pharm. Francis Nwanoluo Odumodu, aged 72 had written his name in the Guinness book of records, having lived a fulfilled life.
“Pharm. Odumodu fought a good fight of faith, finished the race and through faith, gained life to the fullest.”
Pst. Anumba gave the testimony during the funeral ceremony of the patriach on July 26 at his compound, Enuoji Village, Amawbia.
He admonished all to live Christlike life and decried the spate people go back to idolatry, especially the youths, noting that God is not sentimental and would judge all according to their deeds.
The pastor while emphasizing that we are salt and light of the world, urged christians to follow Christ unconditionally, be living Bible others would read, noting that Christianity is practical.
The deceased eldest son, Mr Arinze Odumodu, described his father as an introvert; he talked less but full of wisdom. He avoided troubles and everything that would cause him pain.
“He was a former secretary of Enuoji village, a man of God and teacher in all ramifications. He was a character to reckon with, very truthful and a colossus whose memories will linger forever in our hearts.
“He walked the talk when he protected us and taught us in every stage of life, believing in our capabilities. Your fatherly role was a masterpiece and we will forever remember our experience of learning, protection and values in this regard.
“Your mentorship and advice to us and others who crossed your path could be deeply felt.”
One of her daughters, Mrs Nneka Okoli, said that their father carried out his fatherly role divinely, giving his all.
“He was sacrificial, pouring out his heart and soul into raising us all. He was like a mum to us when we were growing up. He took fatherhood as a sacred duty and excelled leaving behind legacy of sacrifice, wisdom and integrity.
“Every opportunity was a teachable moment for his children. Our father was an ardent believer in education and personal development, family oriented, a loving father and above all, a lover of God.”
The family while praying for happy repose of their father’s soul, thanked those that came to commiserate with them, wishing them journey mercies back to their destinations.
