Some public spirited individuals are still reaching out to victims of flood in Anamvra State.
The latest in this series of humanitarians are individuals from Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA) led by Mrs. Onyekachi Okeke who were at the State Emergency Management Agency to present the items.
She said, “I and my friends from Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area are donated some relief items to Anambra state Government for the flood-affected victims in the state.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the State Government, the Executive Director (ED), SEMA Mr. C.y Agupugo expressed gratitude to the group for their donations and promised that the items would be judiciously distributed to the victims.
Mrs. Okeke said, “we saw what the flood victims are going through and thought it wise for my family and friends to donate these items”.
The items donated include, cartons of indomie, ladies’ and children’s clothing, cartons of pasta food, a bag of salt, tin tomatoes and tubers of yam.
“We just want to let them know that all hope is not lost also that these little items are our little way of supporting them,” she added.
