Anambra State Physical Planning Board has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) so as to work in partnership with the body.
The Memorandum was signed during the visit of the Anambra State chapter of the COREN to the office of the Physical Planning Board at Amawbia.
Speaking during the visit, the state Chairman of COREN, Engr. Victor Meju hinted that their visit was to parley with the Board on ways of achieving the planning development goals of the state.
Engr. Meju said that the COREN Engineers in the state have planned to station representatives as desk officers in all the Local Government Areas of the state to monitor and evaluate building regulations by providing forms for the purpose.
The Physical Planning Board Boss, Barr. Chike Maduekwe in his speech thanked the engineers for their visit and promised to collaborate with them to see that things work out well for the state in line with the Gov. Soludo’s administration efforts to make Anambra a prosperous livable mega green state.
Barr. Maduekwe also called on the Engineers to review their professional charges to be according to building types to make it easy for developers.
He likewise advised that they should instruct their desk officers to desist from extorting the customers as the State Planning Board would not tolerate such.
In his reaction, the state COREN Inspector, Engr. Cy Anaeto thanked the Chairman of the Board for his hospitality, promising that the COREN Engineers would cooperate with the Board to achieve the vision of the Soludo’s administration for the state.
