The Rotary international is seeking the partnership of a private media outfit, Sapiensa Radio Station, to accelerate the realisation of promoting support services to humanity for a better society.
President of Rotary Club of Onitsha metropolis, District 9142, Rtn Oby Arinze, made this known during a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Sapientia Radio and Tv Station in Onitsha, Anambra state Nigeria, Rev Fr Aloysius Orakwe.
The visit was aimed to create more awareness and also educate people on what Rotary International was all about, especially on the theme of 2024/2025 which is ” the Magic of Rotary”.
She explained that it considered it worthy to familiarise with the outfit and also collaborate to achieve a common goal.
Speaking on benefits of Rotary, a member of the club and an Assistant Governor, Rtn Obi Ossai explained that Rotary is all about service, putting smiles on the faces of poor masses globally.
Another Rotarian and a past Assistant Governor of the club, Rtn Dr Ugo Abba while commending the Radio Station for their numerous humanitarian services, informed the Managing Director of the station that Rotary Club of Onitsha Metropolis intends to collaborate with the station in giving the activities of the club wider publicity.
A past president of the club, Rtn Odinakachi Iyioke, extolled the Station’s Managing Director for his accommodative and innovative spirit which aligned with the message and essence of Rotary.
In a vote of thanks, the Managing Director of Sapientia Radio and Television, Rev Fr Aloysius Orakwe, appreciated the president of Rotary club of Onitsha metropolis, Rtn Oby Arinze and the club members for their visit and the good works of Rotary in Onitsha metropolis, the state and globally.
Fr Orakwe further assured of offering the club every necessary assistance in terms of publicity possible.
The President of the club was accompanied on the visit by Rotarians Ugo Abba, Obi Ossai, Odinakachi Iyioke, Dr Onochie Chukwujindum, Anuli Okonkwo, Nneka Okafor, Anastasia Osunkwo and Kelechi Umeh among others.
