South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa will today swear in the Deputy President and Cabinet Ministers who will work with him for the next five years.
The swearing-in ceremony which will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, will be the most ideologically diverse government in the history of South Africa because some of the Cabinet Ministers were appointed from the seven opposition political parties in the state.
President Ramaphosa’s announcement to include the opposite parties in his Cabinet was in line with the power-sharing agreement the African National Congress (ANC) has with the other parties that did not win an absolute majority in the general election.
Speaking, President Ramaphosa stated; “These men and women we appoint into the executive came from all corners of our country. They reflect the diversity of our nation and their responsibility is to work together and serve the people as a whole.”
According to the statement from the South African Government website, the Deputy President, Paul Mashatile will lead the line-up to take the oath of office which will be presided over by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo or another Judge assigned by the Chief Judge.
