A new chapter of progress and Investment in human capital unfolded in Ogbaru as the local government area played host to a landmark Town Hall Meeting and Constituency Empowerment Program, spearheaded by the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze.

Held with great anticipation and enthusiasm, the event brought together a cross-section of the constituency’s leadership and residents, marking a significant step in the drive toward sustainable development and people-focused governance.
The town hall meeting was graced by an impressive array of dignitaries, including traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, faith-based representatives, and local stakeholders—all unified by a common goal: to chart a better course for Ogbaru.

Traditional rulers lent their presence and blessings, while the Deputy Mayor of the local government and councilors reaffirmed their commitment to grassroots development. In a powerful demonstration of his people-first philosophy, Speaker Udeze unveiled a series of empowerment initiatives aimed at equipping residents with tools for self-sufficiency. Items distributed included sewing machines, grinding engines, and weed insecticides—resources that promote entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic independence.

“This is only the beginning,” Udeze remarked, reiterating his open-door policy and encouraging constituents to bring forth ideas, proposals, and feedback. “Our office is always open to you. Together, we will shape a brighter future for Ogbaru.”

More than just a distribution exercise, the event emphasized the value of participatory governance. Speaker Udeze urged continued collaboration between the government and the people, stressing that lasting development must be driven from within the community.
