In a sting operation carried out early hours of this morning by the Ogbaru Vigilante, Eselu, the notorious kidnapper, extortionist and gruesome killer, and some members of his gang were finally nabbed at Uchi, a remote riverine village in Delta State.
They were caught after a fierce gun battle and brought back alive to Ogbaru Local Government head quarters, Atani.
Eselu who hails from Amiyi, together with his gang have been killing and abducting people for ransom for over one year.
They were responsible for the recent burning of Ogbaru local government head office and vehicles packed there. They have a reputation for kidnapping and torturing alot of people for ransom and those who could not pay were either killed or buried alive.
His campaign of terror was so vicious that prominent Ogbaru sons and daughters have stopped going home for funerals, traditional weddings, title taking ceremonies, annual festivals and the usual end-of-year mass returns.
It is believed that with the arrest of this crime kingpin and his men, Ogbaru will heave a sigh of relief and experience the long denied peace and tranquility
