The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Onitsha General Hospital, Dr. Ebelechukwu Anugu has advised all and sundry that timely visits to hospitals will help in avoiding health complications.
She added that early detection of an illness would bring early treatment.
This was said during the visit of Sisters’ Fellowship International, Onitsha to the hospital on their annual August programme tagged, ‘Extension of God’s Hand’.
The group went round the wards in the hospital to see the sick delivering gift items ranging from hospital, equipment and cash to food items such as wheel chairs, clutches, stethoscope, drip stands, mattresses, diapers and bags of rice.
Secretary General of the group, Mrs. Chinwe Okeke who represented the founder, Mrs. Oches Iredu said, “the extension of God’s hands is to put smiles on the faces of our brothers and sisters who are in pains’’.
She prayed for God’s healing power on them and wished them quick recovery.
A patient in the female ward, Mrs. Nwakego Okafor was happy; she said, I have never experienced this kind of love showered on us today, I pray that they will be rewarded abundantly’’.
In a show of appreciation, the Head, Social Welfare Department of the hospital, Mr. Ifeanyi Mba prayed that God would replenish the pocket of the group for remembering the sick.
In a closing remark the Head of Department, Dietary, Mrs. Ngozi Okolo on behalf of the CMD appreciated the Sisters’ Fellowship International for their kind gesture.
