President Bola Tinubu, during his state visit to Anambra, reaffirmed his commitment to addressing key developmental challenges in the South-East region, including Anambra’s exclusion from the National Rail Master Plan, erosion control, and infrastructure development. Speaking at a civic reception, Tinubu assured residents that his administration would prioritize connectivity, security, and economic growth.
Acknowledging the strategic importance of Anambra, Tinubu pledged to review the rail master plan, ensuring the state’s inclusion in the national railway network. He also vowed to partner with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to tackle insecurity and accelerate development efforts.
During the visit, Tinubu commissioned landmark projects, including the Solution Fun City and Government House Mini City, describing them as bold steps toward Anambra’s transformation into an African hub of innovation and commerce. He praised Soludo’s vision, likening his leadership to transformative figures who dared to dream big.
The President also commended Anambra’s proactive security measures, promising continued federal collaboration to ensure peace and stability in the region. He emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity must be harnessed for collective prosperity, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.
As a mark of honor, Tinubu was conferred with the chieftaincy title “Dikesimba of Anambra State” by traditional rulers, recognizing his contributions to national development and unity. He expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, recalling his previous title, “Omenife of Awka”, bestowed upon him in 2005.
Governor Soludo, in his remarks, highlighted Anambra’s urgent needs, including erosion control, federal road rehabilitation, and unlocking the state’s gas potential. He urged the President to declare a state of emergency on erosion, given its devastating impact on communities.
With Tinubu’s pledges and Anambra’s ambitious vision, the visit marks a new era of federal-state collaboration, promising economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and strengthened national unity.
