The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that opposition parties no longer exist in Ebonyi State. He attributed this to the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru, whom he praised for fostering unity and development.
Umahi made this statement on Sunday at his residence in Abakaliki during a fast-breaking event with the Hausa and Yoruba communities.
He urged the people to support Governor Nwifuru, highlighting his efforts to transform the state. According to him, the governor has created an all-inclusive government that has united everyone under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The Governor of Ebonyi State has brought peace. No more opposition in Ebonyi State. Only APC is in Ebonyi. He has brought everybody on board,” Umahi said.
Call for Prayers for Tinubu’s Reelection
The minister also called on Muslims across the country to pray for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027. He praised the President for improving the nation and urged the people to seek divine guidance for his administration.
“In your prayers, please pray for the President, for his success, for all the great work he is doing. He came in the name of God, and God has shown Himself mighty for our President,” Umahi stated.
He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, saying the worst economic challenges are over. He assured Nigerians that the President would continue his developmental agenda if given a second term.
Muslim Leaders Appreciate Minister’s Support
The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ebonyi, Scamb Nwokolo, and the leader of Muslims in the state, Danjuma Gambo, commended Umahi for his support of the Muslim community. They described his gesture as a reflection of his commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence.
