Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, alongside APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, commissioned the newly dualised 18-kilometre Mgbidi/Oguta road and the 3.4-kilometre DSS interchange road in Owerri on Thursday.
The Mgbidi/Oguta road, now renamed Ganduje Drive, is expected to boost economic activities in Oru West and Oguta Local Government Areas by providing access to the Orashi Energy Free Zone and the proposed River Port in Oguta.
Governor Uzodimma emphasized his administration’s commitment to delivering quality and durable roads across the state, highlighting that over 120 roads have been completed under the Road Revolution programme.
The DSS road, now renamed Abdullahi Ganduje Drive, underwent holistic reconstruction and redesign to support the state’s vision for industrialization and economic self-reliance.
Local Government Chairmen, traditional rulers, and stakeholders were urged to protect the infrastructure against vandalism.
