Youth Development Commissioner Inaugurates NYCN ICT Training Centre

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-mba has inaugurated the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training centre established by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State Chapter.

Commissioning the centre on August 19, at the NYCN office in Awka, the Commissioner said that the concept was in line with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to take the state youths to the next level.

He said that the ministry would embark on massive youth empowerment with over 400 master trainers from the 179 communities in the state in 20 different skills in order to make youths of the state useful to the state.

Mr Agha-mba called on the youths to believe in themselves, advising them to put all hands on deck with the new administration in order to make the transformation agenda workable.

He commended the current leadership of the NYCN for its serious commitment and impact toward youth development in the state, promising to give the leadership all the necessary support it deserved from the state government.

The Deputy National President, NYCN, Mr. Innocent Nduanya commended the state government for its plan to ensure that the youths of the state are productive.

He thanked the commissioner for his support and prayed that God would give him the knowledge and wisdom to pilot the youths’ affairs.

Earlier, the Chairman NYCN, Anambra State Chapter, Mr. Emeka Obi noted that the Youth Council is working in collaboration with the state government in order to achieve its objective in youth development.

He assured that the state chapter of NYCN is prepared to support the government.

The Chairman nevertheless, called on the state government to consider making available their subvention so as to enable it to carry out its duties and enlightenment at the grassroots.
