Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has commenced a master trainees programme to update data of youths in the North Senatorial zone of the state.
The Local Government Areas drawn into the programme include, Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum, Onitsha North, Onitsha South
Ogbaru and Oyi.
Addressing the Master traineres at GRA, Onitsha North LGA, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba emphasized on the importance of mentoring the youths for successful entrepreneurship skills adding that such would sustain youth development in the state and make them masters in their chosen fields.
He disclosed that his ministry would reward the outstanding master trainee with the sum of one million naira and urged participants to put all hands on deck for a successful youths transformation agenda.
Mr. Agha Mba added that the ministry would soon embark on massive youth empowerment programmes, with 468 master trainers from 199 communities in the state with 20 different skills in order to make the youths of the state useful to the state and themselves. He added that the approval for the commencement of the programme has been granted by the state government.
The commissioner said that the state government has mandated the ministry to train and empower 1,000 youths annually; saying that the ministry is bent on achieving such through apprenticeship programmes.
He congratulated the participants for being among the selected for the training.
